You may encounter polar bears, walrus, arctic foxes, reindeer, seals, and a wide variety of seabirds including guillemots and kittiwakes. Sightings vary depending on weather and ice conditions.

Temperatures typically range from 0°C to 5°C (32°F to 41°F). Weather can change quickly, so layered clothing and windproof outerwear are essential.

MV Sjoveien is a classic expedition vessel with space for just 12 guests. It combines comfort, charm, and functionality—perfect for navigating Svalbard’s narrow fjords and icy waters.

Moderate fitness is required. Passengers should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain and boarding small Zodiac boats for shore landings and wildlife excursions.

Participants should be in good general health and at least 16 years old. Those with mobility issues should consult us before booking, as this is an active expedition.
